Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee
Wes and the Morris Financial team are ongoing supporters of the Second Harvest Food Bank in Kingsport, TN. As a member of Feeding America, the Second Harvest Food Bank works to feed the hungry in Northeast Tennessee through donations, partner agencies and a mobile food pantry. They are powered by volunteers and grants, and distributed 10.2 million pounds of food during fiscal year 2015. Morris Financial has received the New York Life Insurance Company Community Impact Grant annually for the past three years because of their service to the food bank and other community organizations.
Sullivan County Schools
Wes is active in the Sullivan County School system. He is the assistant baseball coach at Colonial Heights Middle School, and is an advocate of Reading Across America (also known as Dr. Seuss Week) at the local elementary schools. Wes has been active with the local high school, Sullivan South, home of the Rebels, since 2001. In the past, he has taught classes there as a guest speaker, and has also assisted with canned food drives that the school hosts. Wes has been a corporate sponsor for all of the high school sporting events since 2001, and is also a member of Pigskin Parents, the fundraising arm of the athletics department. Sullivan County Schools is comprised of four high schools, seven middle schools, two K-8 schools and 10 elementary schools, serving a current student population of nearly 10,500 students.
